Happy Birthday Kaia!

Happy Birthday Kaia!

i forgot to post this last night. or, maybe i wasn't in any condition to write last night:)

a few things to relate about yesterday...

kaia doesn't listen anymore. isn't she a little young for this? she thinks it's funny to do WHATEVER i tell her NOT to do. admittedly, it's a bit humorous, but a bit frustrating at times. i lost my patience while cooking dinner because she would not stop touching the oven. she also likes to stand and grab onto the oven handle. i have no doubt that she will be able to open that soon. do they make some kind of locks for those? anyhow, i picked her up and threw her in the play yard (not literally). i need to not do that. i don't want her to associate her play place with punishment. any ideas?

onto bigger and better things. she knows what her binky is. if she has it in her mouth and i say "can you give mama your binky?" , she takes it out and puts it in my hand. if it's laying around somewhere and i say "where's your binky?" she gets it and puts it in her mouth. smart girl!

last night in the midst of my nervous breakdown, i held her and cried and cried. i started rubbing her head like i know she likes. we were both content (with exception of the crying, lol) and happy. i stopped rubbing her head. she proceeded to grab my hand and moved it back and forth on her head. cute stuff. reminded me of her dad:)

for the past two nights i've had pasta for dinner. i brown a spicy italian sausage, then sautee some onion and garlic with it. then add 1 cup of spaghetti sauce, pepper and fresh parsley. monday night, kaia ate this with me. i just dredged her noodles in the sauce a little bit. this is the first time she's had anything tomato based. opens up a whole new world for food. she ate the chunks of tomato, no problem. she also ate the sausage no problem. it's not spicy, spicy, but i thought it might be for a toddler. she didn't flinch. last night (keep in mind this is only 1 cup of sauce) i added *5* garlic cloves, minced. and then i gave her more sauce with her pasta. she loved it! i could literally SEE chunks of garlic on her pasta and she ate it up! thought her daddy would be proud:)

well, that's all for now. i'll post again later tonight. mom and marlene are coming today, so i've got some cleaning of bathrooms and floors to do. i got an email for kaia for coldstone's. she gets a free ice cream for her birthday. i thought i'd wait til you get home so you could witness her first ice cream. but, it expires 11/22, which is the day you get home. i have to see how late they're open that day and what time you get home. it might still work out. or, i guess i could get it ahead of time and just keep it in the freezer. maybe that's a better idea.

we love you and miss you more than ever. especially today. hope you have a good day. you deserve to be proud of the father you've become and the daughter we've raised so far. she is so beautiful, smart and perfect.

i love you.
